Shooting Sports Timer

Description: Quick Draw Electronics Fast Draw Timer

The Shooting Sports Timer is designed to be used to Practice fast draw shooting at a target as done in CFDA and WDFA competitions. It can also be configured in Single and Multi-Timer configurations for Quick Draw competitions.

This Practice Timer features 3/4 inch tall, easy to read displays, and a two position Bright/Dim switch to control the intensity of the target lights. The target light brightness can be optimized for the ambient lighting conditions. The extra bright target lights can easily be seen in the brightest sunlight. The timer is connected to the Lights using rugged, 18 ga., two wire lamp cord. If the cable is damaged, it can be easily repaired in the field.

The Timer supports one or two shooters in all the modes. The Standard mode requires the user to press the Remote switch to start a timed event. The timer will then wait for a random time from 2 to 5 seconds and then turn on the lights. The lights will go off when the target is hit and the elapsed time will be displayed.

The Practice mode automatically restarts the timer after a delay. The timer emits a short Beep indicating the start of the random delay. At the end of the random delay, the lights will come on as in the standard mode and start the time measurement. Two different delay times are available. If two lights are connected, the timer waits for 12 seconds before restarting the cycle. If one light is connected, the timer waits 4 seconds before restarting the cycle. The faster recycle time allows users to load multiple cartridges and quickly run through all of them for an alternate method of practice.

The Slave mode allows the user to connect multiple timers together. All timers, when in the slave mode, will start the timing sequence exactly 2 seconds after the release of the remote switch. All timers will be in sync to the nearest microsecond. A cable set is available that allows the user to connect the timers together. The user determines the random delay time by waiting to release the remote button. The user can conceal the remote switch from the shooters so that they will not anticipate the light on event. This configuration provides a low cost alternative for informal competitions. An optional Competition Controller is available to automate the process, relieve the user of the random delay task, and provide for use in sanctioned competition events.
